All of the sessions will be led by phase specific specialists with some sessions delivered across phases to ensure each NQT has a clear picture of progression and is supported in their induction year.

The programme can be purchased as a package (£400) or schools can have a ‘pick and mix’ approach and choose individual sessions. There is a discount for booking the full 5 day programme. Some of the sessions this year may be facilitated online.

Online termly networks for NQTs

In light of the current situation in schools, we are acutely aware that teachers new to the profession may have experienced a challenging time during their training with reduced contact in schools.  To respond to this, we are providing additional support this year in the form of free termly online facilitated networks each centred around a different theme, and led jointly by the LA and teaching school representatives, with special guest experts each term.   These will be taking place from 4.00 – 5.00 pm on the following dates:

  • Term 1: Tues 20th Oct;
  • Term 2: Tues 15th Dec;
  • Term 3: Tues 9th Feb;
  • Term 4: Tues 30th March;
  • Term 5: Tues 25th May;
  • Term 6: Tues 6th July

The role of the statutory body:

Bristol Local Authority work collaboratively with us to fulfil the statutory role of Appropriate Body for NQT induction. Bristol LA ensure that all newly qualified teachers are registered with the DfE and that statutory requirements are met, providing support and guidance to schools and NQTs throughout the induction period.  You MUST register as an NQT with an ‘Appropriate Body’ to ensure all requirements are met.

To access the Trading with Schools (TwS) website, with the induction and registration paperwork and details of the support for school based NQT mentors and NQTs themselves, please visit: http://www.tradingwithschools.org/Article/21908
