Rachael has been teaching within key stage 2 for 14 years, with the majority of her experience being within year 6. She is currently an Assistant Head with classroom responsibility for year 6. Rachael has worked on closing the gap within Key Stage 2 and the increased confidence of other staff to further improve identified groups through intervention is testament to her leadership skills.
Rachael has supported a number of colleagues in both her current school and other schools, moderating, planning and sharing outstanding practice in teaching, learning and assessment. She has worked with the LA to plan and review her own school’s wider curriculum and led meetings in her school and within the cluster on curriculum development.
When leading English she has introduced the successful model of whole class reading, through staff meetings, planning surgeries and demonstrating effective teaching in the classroom as well as observing other members of staff and giving accurate feedback on how to improve. She is able to support staff, both experienced and inexperienced, in the implementation of data tracking systems.
Rachael has also developed Pupil Premium strategies within her school. She has worked with other SLTs form our cluster to develop their PP strategies after successfully planning, ativan online, delivering and evaluating the Holy Cross Strategy for Ofsted.
Apart from the responsibilities listed Rachael oversees Student placements and NQT inductions within her school. Through this she has provided constructive support to allow them to achieve.
