Brief biography:

Ray has worked at St Anne’s Infants’ School, Brislington for ten years and for the past three years has been a senior leader and year group leader with responsibility for literacy in its ‘entirety!’ To raise standards and children’s enjoyment of writing, Ray introduced strategies for improving writing, through a process of training colleagues, supporting new planning and teaching practices and moderation exercises and the impact has been high. Ray has introduced new strategies into St. Anne’s Infants’, with a view to raising and securing children’s phonics knowledge.  An outstanding teacher herself, Ray has mentored NQTs and supported colleagues to raise their teaching from ‘requires improvement’ to ‘good’. She has also supported other colleagues in local schools with moderation and observations providing constructive and developmental feedback. Ray is extremely enthusiastic about making a difference for children and finds nothing more satisfying than seeing the progress individuals make.
